Hearts Cards

Enjoyable game. Pros: Ease of play; preference for different variants; clean user interface. Cons: I miss an indication of tricks won. In a real game you can see who has won tricks. A little fanfare when winning a game would be nice.

Dont get me wrong. I love my Mac but the hearts game is vastly inferior to the Windows versions. For starters it does not keep stats on numbers of games played, percentages and number of games won… Also I do not care for the fact the game is not very challenging.

do a little better

Adding a recorded percentage of wins and having the game auto play out when there are no more point cards left would be nice. Also would be nicde to be able to change name.

Major Flaw

Second review. I like playing with the Jack of Diamonds being a -10 however the AI is clueless with this option. I simply lead the JD and it goes thru every time unless one of the AI players is shortsuited with a high diamond. Passing fromn the AI is totally predictable. It always passes a club and high Hearts and Spades. I simply never pass a spade (unless short suited witht he AKor Q, pass low hearts, and try to be short suited in clubs. The AI will alway lead the lone club when the QS is still out.

easy

very easy to win. Waste of money

Hearts

This is just what I wanted. A simple app to play hearts and be able to teach my children how to play. Its easy to set up the options for speed of the movements, change names and play different rules. The J of diamonds worth -10 is an option and the way I used to play.

Fix is in.

Distribution of cards (deal) weighted toward the underdog, attempting and succeeding to even the score. Near game end the cards dealt favor ME to run them and win. A fair and random deal would be appreciated.

Hearts

A very disappointing hearts game especially compared to the Windows version. The program has an incorrect algorithm for dealing cards so that a large proportion of the hands are dealt with a 4-3-3-3 distribution as compared to random chance. In addition the program has no card counting ability. When it had the lead and the six of spades and the queen was the only other outstanding spade, it didnt lead the six. Further, flushing the queen is the basic strategy of all hearts players as it minimizes your chance of winding up with the queen. Only this program doesnt play flush the queen. After figuring out its quirks like lead high, then low which works with centralized distribution, I found this game very boring, and now my $.99 goes flush down the trash bin.

slowwwww

I want to use my name. Game plays well but the scores are not in the order dealt. deals cards very slowly

Heart

Any good hearts game should allow the player to either add or subtract points after a run. This one does not

Nice, But...

This game is nice and entertaining. However, it would be nice to be able to see the hosts scores during the game to determine strategies as we are playing.

Hearts Cards

It’s all right. Not as good as the Microsoft Hearts. Would like to see a running record of games played with a running percentage like in the MS version. Would also like to be able to use my own name.

Where are my wining Matches?Scores? No Statistics, really?

I agree with previous comments.I too prevent the other Players from shooting the moon and will take 4 points. I am disappointed that there are no Statistics for matches played, games played. There should be at least your percentages won scores displayed! I can see my percentages being high which would be fun!

Not recommended for a 27” screen

I guess the game would be ok for a small notebook however this game is not suitable for a larger 27” Mac. The game cannot be increased in size and if ou go to full screen the size is still small however due to a glich or something I was almost impossible to close the app.

Simple and Fun

Although this might be too simplistic for avid “gamers” I like it. When Grass Game Hearts, which I’d played for years, upgraded I wasn’t happy with the new version. So, I looked for a simple hearts game that allows me to name the players, play out the game to completion (after all the strategy is more than half the fun) and had some ability to remove or play sounds, adjust speed, as well as setting bonus cards and breaks. This works perfectly for just passing the time. The only real drawback is that you cannot pick decks and the layout is left to right, rather than right to left. Also, most games have red/black/red/black layout, this one has black and reds next to each other, but not a big deal once you adjust to it.

Hearts

Wasted my money. Let me pick the players. Let me know when the game ended. How do you get my money back?

Waste of 99 cents

I figured for 99 cents how could I go wrong. Boy was I wrong. Very basic, no frills, no customize, just mindless card throwing. AVOID.

The game is so easy, a 3-year old could win

The aforementioned “Title” says it all. There is no place where you can choose a skill level.

Hearts Cards

Fun game but takes too long to calculate scores

poorly designed

I agree with others, the dealing does not seem to be random. I just played a game that had 3 shoot the moons in a row!! And a player should at least be able to see their “winnings” on each hand.
