Hearts Cards App Reviews

63 Customer Reviews:

This game has a simple clean look, with simple animation and sound effects. It’s very much like the Microsoft Hearts game which used to be standard in Windows, and was my favorite time waster there. While I’m not enough of an expert to rate the playing strength, it’s good enough to keep me interested. My biggest criticism is the presentation of the score table after each round. The layout of the table doesn’t correspond very well to the placement of the players on the display, so it takes a moment to figure out who has what score. Having said that I like the minimalist approach, it would be nice if one more sound effect and announcement were added to note when somebody shoots the Moon. On the whole, though, highly recommended for anyone who just wants to play Hearts without unnecessary distractions.

I enjoy this game and play it several times a day. While playing the game, in between hands, the score for each player given is out of sync with the layout. Other than that I love it because it usually lets me win!

Not a bad game.

I love hearts and I love this version of the game. It gets very glitchy, however, mostly when I start a new game. I have to quit the app and reopen it for it to work properly. Any chance that this could get fixed? Otherwise, I like how simple it is, although I would like to see the scores during the game rather than just at the end of eack round. It’s a good app overall!

window too small

Good game but the inability to make the window is a bad distraction.

Duck_of_Death

Simple. Not very stiff competition but the game works, which is more than I can say about other Apple Store software.

Broken in 10.11 El Capitan

This game does not work well under OS 10.11 El Capitan, Animation is jerky and does not score beyond the second hand in a game.

Scoring is broken in El Capitan

As indicated by previous reviewer scoring is not calculated after first round and animations stutter.

I don’t play this version of Hearts because the board is too small and I can take the queen and not even notice it because the board and cards are too small. Id also like to see a running total of the number of hearts each player has taken during each hand in addition to the summary at the end of each hand.

The program works. However, the authors might have done better to develop a more intuitive and user friendly interface and leave off the sound effects. Card play (movement) is disjunct, the 4 players are not in a logical sequence and the only way to quit is to get to the dialogue box where the quit button is. For a dollar… ok, but I have free programs that are much more sopphisticated.

This was the best of a bad lot when I got it and is NOTHING approaching the quality of the version in Windows. The support site is static and not helpful but problems with the new operating system have been fixed. Could be improved and I don’t know why they don’t but there aren’t any alternatives.

Help

Nice game, plays fast. However, there should be a running tally kept for each player during the gaming process.

Slow & Choppy

Even in the fast mode you have to wait for a play to process. not fun.

hearts cards

Don’ t likesmall size of deck or that the score is not displayed as each hand is played.

Not much thought went into this production. Play is choppy and slow. Windows free versions are much better. The “Issues” list in the “What’s New in Version 1.3" makes me wonder just how bad it was in Version 1.2.

when you’re playing you cant see who has points. There is no way to look, you just have to remember. Moreover, the layout of scores is funny. left right and across (north east west) are presented in a non logical way. Other than that the game is fine

Doesn

Tried downloading it twice to my computer to no avail. Save yourself the $0.99 and headache and buy another option.

SaraInk2 · 10 years ago

It would be nice during the play of the games that it shows how many hearts have been taken by each player so you haave a better idea where to give out your hearts.
